Major App Redesign and Mobile BP startng in AUS on 21 Nov

Sorry if I missed this being discussed before..

Just updated to version 2.0 of the Southwest iOS app. Major redesign. Looks nice. The release notes say all of the previous functionality remains. Hopefully it's a bit more usable.

The big news is that mobile boarding passes are going to start in Austin on Nov 21.

I've got a nonstop AUS-EWR on Thurs morning. Hope it goes smoothly.

Welcome to 2007 Southwest.

It actually does look very nice. Much quicker to get to My Travel and check in on a flight. I couldn't find a way to see how much I paid (points or cash) for a flight though. Perhaps I'm missing it.

Might just book a flight to Austin to try the mobile boarding pass!

Finally! There are still a few key features missing from the app (such as viewing details of points earning/redemption), but it is a great improvement. Can't wait for Mobile Boarding Pass to come to PHX! ^

Actually, as I read it, only nonstop or direct flights originating in Austin qualify during the pilot program.

Brought tears to my eyes when I saw an update in the app store today. Not quite as nice as UA's but at this point I'm more than happy to get this much from Southwest.

Urgh.

Did the dreaded website "session expired" error happen with the old app? I just installed and hit the "Log In or Enroll" button:

Never saw that on the old app and haven't <yet> seen it on the new one.

As a matter-of-fact, the old app remained logged-in to my RR account for months (years?) regardless of handset reboots, handset software updates, complete power-downs, etc. Updated to the new-and-improved SWA app just before noon today and found that I was "still logged-on" once the install completed (it apparently drug the old app logon along with the update). 4+ hours later and I am still logged-on. Sumsung Galaxy S4 on Sprint if that happens to matter.

Speaking of... anyone on here that departed from AUS earlier today & had/used the new Mobile Boarding Pass?

How did it go, especially considering the below mess?

AUS is my home airport. The app update mentions 11/21 as the start date though. Regarding your other note. Yes, it was messy today due to the F1 race.

Some nice improvements for the App but they took away the ability to search by airport code for booking and flight status.
