What a surprise! WN will launches the 737-7MAX and orders more 737-800 as well.

The first WN 737-7MAX to be delivery sometime in 2019.

Congratulations to WN!

It's hard to believe it is 6 years for those to be built.

In other news, I was talking to a FA the other day while sitting on a 300. She told me that they are going to be adding the evolve interiors to the 300-series planes that have the swooped up winglets.

There goes the comfort and legroom.

The 300's are, until now, guaranteed extra seat pitch versus the Evolve.

Now we get extra seats and small bins?

A couple dozen of Southwest's oldest -300s are already more than 20 years old. One could hope they'll just be left in the current config until retirement.

Refurbs to old aircraft?

Buying used aircraft?

Pushing out options for new aircraft?

Southwest is showing shades of Delta's capital spending discipline.

It is very likely that they may be planning to recycle the Evolve components into the new airframes as the 300's are retired.

And those planes also did not get winglets.

Any 300's that got winglets are here to stay for a while and those planes will probably be devolved.
