Unexpected drink coupons in mail
Sorry if this has been posted before, I searched and didn't find anything. Out of the blue, I just got a letter from WN with 4 drink coupons good for a year. I have not earned a reward, made A list, or hit any other milestone that I can tell. The letter was signed XXX, Senior Director, Loyalty and Partnership Marketing.
Is this common? Has anyone else seen this?

I have something like 28 paid one way flights since January and have never gotten a drink coupon. Not a big deal since I dont drink, but odd I didn't get them. I did get a nice one year anniversary card from Chase along with 4,000 free points as a thank you for being a loyal customer. Points NEVER posted.

Are you sure your Chase anniversary points never posted? That would be very unusual. Is it the Southwest branded Visa, or some other Chase card? I believe the anniversary points on the Southwest Visa are either 3,000 (regular card) or 6,000 (premier).

It's bizarre.
My spouse received drink coupons in the mail last week.
My daughter received the coupons six months ago, but assumed it was for having a new SWA credit card.
I have never received the coupons, and certainly flew in excess of 30 one way flights in the past year.
But, no one drinks anyway, so it's no big deal, just strange.

There's a glitch in the system (what a surprise - a WN IT glitch) resulting from the transition to RR 2.0 that may affect the issuance of your drink coupons. Took about three months to resolve, but I finally received them thanks to WN rep Whitney.

You have to have "opted in" to receive them; on the website under Rapid Rewards>My Account>My Preferences>Travel Preferences, make sure that AIR PREFERENCES, "Rapid Rewards Drink Coupons Yes, send me drink coupons as I earn them (must be at least 21 years old)" is selected. If so, I'd give them a call to find out why you're not getting the coupons.
