Hi - you may want to clarify your request - do you want a fitness resort/spa with an organized program? Or a location that would allow you to do many fitness activites: hiking, mountain biking, skiing, kayaking, etc.? And if so, are you looking for beach/tropical/warm weather or for cold/skiing/mountainous/hotspring? What time of year are you going? Many options depending on what you actually asking.

Also, 5 hours flight time from NYC would eliminate most of South America - do you mean Central America?

It's way more than a five-hour flight from NYC, but the W Trek in Torres del Paine National Park, on the Chile side of Patagonia, is worth the time it takes to get there. Go during the North American winter, or it will be mighty cold!
