Best redemption (Dubai to Australia + NZ)
Hi,
I am a platinum skyteam member. Was planning to have a vacation in
australia and nz in the middle of next year.
Would anyone have suggestions on which would be the 'cheapest'
redemption possibility? I would like to get a reward with an open jaw
so, flying dubai-nz and then back from aus-dubai.
Any pointers would be really useful.
Thanks.

From your profile it looks like your miles & status are in the Flying Blue program. Based on that you'll need to redeem with them for the trip. The open jaw routing shouldn't be a problem, though the actual flight routing might be. Unless you can redeem on Malaysian and fly DXB-KUL-Onward you will be rather limited in the options available to you with a decent routing. Connecting back through Europe would suck pretty bad.

I think OP has limited options from DXB to Aus/NZ on Skyteam. KE, CZ and MH are the only options since he is with FB. Redemption with MH may be difficult compared to KE and CZ. There were couple of threads about MH redemptions in FB forum.
I would have called FB helpdesk and made sure there are no balck outs on KE / CZ for the dates I am looking at.

Because it is operated by EK there may be trouble redeeming for that flight, depending on the program the miles come from. The partner of a partner issue might come in to play.
