Air Europa system not recognising Alitalia Elite Plus status
Grateful for advice as I couldn't find anything when I did a search.
I have Elite Plus status with Alitalia and have booked a flight on Air Europa. I have tried to select seats for free but it will not allow me to do so. Air Europa have said that their system doesn't recognise my status and I can book for free 48 hours before departure. Alitalia can't suggest how it is resolved.
Is this normal for Skyteam that some airlines don't recognise the programme status and/or is their a workaround to be able to book the seats?

I had a pretty mixed experience with UX as a DL Platinum (SkyTeam Elite+) on a business class ticket.
IIRC, you may be able to find your UX reservation via the KLM or AF websites, but I don't know if a seat selection there is possible or would stick. UX's website and internal systems seemed pretty bad...even their airport agents were having trouble getting anything status-related to happen.
Good luck!
