Best ST program for deep econ fares on VN & DL
Hello all,
I'm trying to look at all the obvious programs, but was hoping someone could help. Had a relative who just rerouted onto:
- SGN-NRT on a VN R fare
- NRT-SEA on a DL T fare
... departing in 16 hours.
These are both deep discounts, flyer is a complete newbie, and I want to consolidate mileage earning into one program with maximum return.
VN's program awards 25% for the VN R fare, and none for DL T.
= 680 GL Points
DL offers no miles for VN R, and 100% on DL T
= 4769 SkyPesos
Is there a 3rd program that will be more beneficial? Flyer is based in Vietnam and probably will fly once a year.

Currently DL gives at least 100% miles for all DL non consolidator fares and DL miles do not expire (except at death). However, sttarting in January the earning of redeemable miles for DL flights will be based on the fare paid, with multipliers that depend on status.
