Sixt car rental experience - help

I need some help on car rental with Sixt. I rented a car from Sixt in California and now 3 months later. I get email bill that I am liable for damages to the bumper and other car areas from some collection agency. They are saying in I have to pay 1000 in damages which I did not cause. I read from many other website having similar issues. They sent me pictures from different parts with damages which can only cause from different accidents. If I don't pay they may report me and get negative on credit report. I never had this type of issues with other car rental company and this is the 1st time I am renting with Sixt. Any help would be appreciated.

seems like this is an issue -

The same thing happened to me and I was charged roughly the same amount for roughly the same sounding issue...
