DXB, Terminal 3->1

Booked: Nissan Tiida
Received: C-Class C200
Status: Diamond

Somewhat sad that it was only a single-class upgrade, BUT on the upside it was a decked-out AMG package C-class - so while still a flimsy 2-liter motor, it had AMG floor mats, AMG mags, AMG performance seats (!) and a fire extinguisher (!!!!!!). Overall, I guess I'm happy, though I would have preferred a convertible or something

First Rental with Sixt - Platinum Card (Hhonors Diamond) - Atlanta Midtown Georgian Terrace Hotel:

Booked: ICAR
Received: LCAR (Mercedes C250 with Navigation and Satellite)

Had some concerns regarding the deposit policy (minimum $250 in Georgia regardless of rental rate or car rented, found here), but the agent on duty and the branch manager went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure I got into a nice car ^^

If you are Platinum, at least for this branch, they won't make you pay the minimum $850 deposit for PCAR+ and will knock it down to $250.

Interesting....I didnt know they could 'adjust' the deposit. My rental as plat down in Atlanta last time was out of the airport, for a XFAR required a $4,000 deposit......

Booked: FCAR (Camry)
Received: E350 which, upon actually going to the lot with a phenomenally friendly and attractive attendant, was apologetically switched to an E350 Cabriolet, which she wanted to initially give me but thought it was no longer there (and once she found it, she immediately replaced the "normal" E350 with it).

I'm really, really floored. Love Sixt. Keeps getting better and better.

Good to know for my upcoming res at LAS. Just got an E63 S AMG from Hertz and they added just 200USD on top of the expected rental price.

Did you get that as an upgrade or did you pay for that?

Received: BMW X5 with 18000 miles. Smelled a bit of smoke. Saw a grey E350 sitting and swapped it. The E350 had about 16000 miles, but still wasn't too bad. Good stuff Sixt.

Booked: CWMR
Received: IFMR (Honda CR-V).

Pros: Highly appreciated as I had a lot of skiing equipment, lots of space!
Cons: All necessary info was already given at the time of the reservation, but still the clerk asked everything again at the counter (starting from CC and other details)

This month to MAD, I booked a BMW1 and I'm hoping for a 3/5-series....

Seattle:

Booked full-size, was supposed to get an E350 but it needed an oil change and they only had 3, 2 of which were already prepaid - so got a GLK350 instead. Still satisfied. Will try again next week for the E.

Side note: damn, the GLK saps gas. The E350 'vert I had a week ago felt like it got double the mileage.

Plat
MAD
Booked bmw1 (sorry, don't recall the code)
Would have Received insignia,

So a "generous" upgrade would have been the minimum one , +1 group.
I booked&paid early (high rate), there would have been significanly lower rates near the "D-day", so obviously the demand wasn't high. Sixt has "premium " rates so only the minimum upgrade didn't made this customer happy.

With plat card I received a decent ~6 class upgrade in Finland,
But the "game" seems to differ a lot here in spain

Coming back to MAD in autumm, and then the choice is easy,
I'll take My money elsewhere. You can easily find better rates with zero-excess
from Hertz trough autoeurope If sixt provides only minimum upgrades I can hardly see the
Incentive to book again from them.

In addition; I paid for zero-excess but still they debited a deposit...?

Sorry for the typos, autocorrect !
