Cheap Hotels for Christmas?
I've been searching Agoda.com for cheap SIN hotels. The cheapest around has been for about $50 USD per night. Does anybody know where to find cheaper hotels? Thanks!
P.S. I don't mind staying in a hostel so long as I can get a private double room (2 people).

Try the Hotel 81 or Fragrance chains. They're not fancy, but they're cheap and get the job done. Little India also has lots of super-cheap hotels and hostels, but some of these are kinda dodgy.

The Hangout @ Mt. Emily in the previous post is nice. It's not a true full service hotel but it's stylish and has a great location. I've stayed at One Florence Close which is all private doubles but communal bathrooms. That was close to US$60/night. The issue is the location. It's a 3 minute walk from the Kovan MRT (NEL) but it's a bit far from the tourist areas. Fine if you plan to be home by midnight but can be expensive after midnight via taxi and the surcharge.
