Getting into the MH Platinum lounge isn't a sure thing ... I've been denied a few times (despite being double Emerald on OW) as they keep it for Enrich platinum. Very nice lounge if you do get in, and sure thing to get a room (unless some bigwigs are flying that day, highly unlikely). Most of the time that lounge is empty

How could you visit the lounge on domestic flights?

same here. Never an issue getting in, and it always was rather empty. You should not have any issues scoring a pair of those beds.

I see.. But do you show your arriving boarding pass or departure domestic boarding pass to enter?

This means you can arrive on eg:TG in Y and connect to domestic MH in J,or with OWS/OWE status and access the international J (or F lounge if Emerald).
It is also useful if you travel the other way round (ieomestic MH>International oneworld) and the check in counter for your international flight has not opened by the time you arrive KUL and you need to check in the baggage. You can chill in the domestic MH lounge on the basis of your international BP (OLCI/mobile).

If you desperately want to go by car please book a car at a company specialised in this kind of transfer. The Malaysian highways are not that safe anyways and I don't imagine it getting safer if you are being driven for a long way by a very tired Uber driver in the middle of the night.

To add more context having driven a lot in Malaysia. The PLUS North South highway from KL to Singapore is very good. Well-maintained, brightly lit and with no traffic at 4am, you can reach Singapore/Tuas checkpoint in 3 hours flat. Driving overnight hours however, you need to exercise some situational awareness around possibly sleep-deprived commercial drivers (overnight buses, tractor trailers etc)
Agree with everyone that flight is best and there are multiple early morning options.

At the moment, Jetstar, AirAsia, TigerAir all selling for around $10. MH is asking for almost $100 in Y. What would be a reasonable priced Y ticket in MH?

I was booking the KUL-PEN ticket and the HKg version opened by default since I am there and the price was like 100USD,but when I switched to the Malaysia version, the price came down to 12USD,so if you are in Australia at the moment, change your website to Malaysia and see if it brings the price down.

Also, somhow I believe that 3xx MYR is VERY cheap for thise kind of trip, especially since the driver would probably have to drive back empty. I would never have thought that a ride could be had so cheap - assuming more like 600, 700 MYR at the very least, probably even more..
Having driven the NS highway from Penang/Georgetown to Johore Bahru a few times, I would 2nd that suggestion re: erratic drivers (any time of the day) and not to go with one who may be sleep-deprived and not fully alert.

MH is selling for 176MYR for a Y ticket, would prefer to fly in J if extra cost is reasonable, would it be easy to bid for upgrade on this route?

Bid for upgrade is cheap and easy but J is not much different from Y on most MH planes short-haul, also you don't earn J miles if crediting to any FF plan. QFF earn is particularly poor on most MH fares and upgrade to J leaves you earning discounted Y (which would be about 50 miles and 5 SC ).
