What is cheap(er) in Singapore?

Heading there for a meeting for a few days. I was wondering what bargain could be made there, if any? Thanks!

It depends on what you want to get? I mean, you don't want to buy things that you don't need just for the sake of scoring a bargain right?

For a significant improvement hop across to JB, or better still wait for a trip to Vietnam or Cambodia.

Prices (or pretty much everything) have skyrocketed in Singapore since 2007 when that thread started. My colleague just dropped $400 on a very simple pair of glasses here.

Some vegetables can be very cheap here.

Apple keeps the base price equal across all markets. Taxes and duties are low in SG though, so it's not a bad place to buy, you're just not going to get crazy savings. (Unless you're coming from some place like Brazil where the duties are insane.)

Thanks for this. I'm in Singapore next month and I'm in need of new glasses.
