What is cheap(er) in Singapore?

Heading there for a meeting for a few days. I was wondering what bargain could be made there, if any? Thanks!

It depends on what you want to get? I mean, you don't want to buy things that you don't need just for the sake of scoring a bargain right?

Not in my opinion, cheaper in Malaysia...

Well, you can eat fairly cheap of you consider hawker centers.

Singapore prices can be an improvement on the insane cost of glasses in the UK: but that's true of almost anywhere.

For a significant improvement hop across to JB, or better still wait for a trip to Vietnam or Cambodia.

Owndays has now set up shop in Singapore, they are a Japanese chain, and start at S$99 all in, with just a 20min wait. That's a pretty good bargain in contrast to some markets. But if you'll be in Japan, then Owndays base price is 30% cheaper than SG.

What about electronics? Apple products?

Apple keeps the base price equal across all markets. Taxes and duties are low in SG though, so it's not a bad place to buy, you're just not going to get crazy savings. (Unless you're coming from some place like Brazil where the duties are insane.)
