I just saw this sticky.
I am hoping to grab a few people for dinner and drinks this Friday and have posted in CommunityBuzz.

Let me know if any of you are keen to meet. We have a few Aussies and quasi-Londoners so far.

There's a first time for everything . I would feel more comfortable - especially in terms of your safety - bringing something like our local Datil pepper hot sauce. Assuming one can import things like that into Singapore. Robyn

I would definitely say food, especially hawker markets. I've been to Singapore twice before but haven't had the opportunity to visit many. I'd also love to have some black pepper or chili crab again. It wouldn't be ideal for me to eat one all by myself lol. I'd also love to try good Indian food since my hotel will be in Little India.

On chilli crab - I'll pass, my metabolism has a problem with spicy food.

When it comes to this chili crab stuff - are the crabs served whole in the (very hard) shell. I had that once in Vancouver - a real mess to eat. Robyn

Chopped up a bit isn't enough for that stuff. Unless you're wearing a shirt on its last legs that you're ready to toss . Are there any places that serve it out of the shell - or in expertly cracked shells? The crab we had in Vancouver was dungeness - and I assume the crab in Singapore is similar. Here in Florida - we have "stone crabs". And one big criteria in terms of eating the stuff here (even though it's cold and not coated in chili sauce) is how well it's cracked (at the best places - you don't have to work for it). Robyn
