That's a great idea. Even if I'm not single then I'd still like to have a Skysuite in my apartment. I honestly don't think many ladies will be all that impressed by it though

I think I know some people who can help

I work for an aircraft seating manufacturer. We don't make the SQ Skysuites but I do know some folks at the manufacturer as well as people in the seat shop at SIA.

I think the prices could be much lower than the worst case by the earlier poster.

If you're serious, send me a private message with contact info and I'll start doing some digging.

I once owned a Shackleton's high chair and not once did I hear any comments on how comfortable it was. First of all I sent for their brochure. Then I went to their showroom. They had over one hundred chairs to choose from. I sold it three months later and bought a Commodore 64.

ahha ah ha ha what a legend! That would be a great idea for an apartment, Make your 2 bed apartment a 5-7 bed apartment instantly! Also if you want a true 'first-class- sleeping experience on terra firma, there is a Jumbo Hostel in Stockholm which i'm trying out later in the year...

That looks tremendous! You'll definitely have to write a trip report.

I used to work for an aircraft seat manufacturer. $10k-$20k US for a triple Y seat group was typical 10 years ago, so the prices stated for a F suite don't seem out of line.

The seat must be as light as possible but still has to pass stringent crash safety standards. Also, the padding, upholstery, and plastic parts have to pass flammability tests. All this leads to use of some exotic and expensive materials that are unnecessary in home furnishings. Since F suites are custom-designed for each airline, all the engineering and certification costs must be spread over a small number of units.
