I agree, the FCT food is great, I nearly always find something worth the calories! Onboard LH, the food is generally pretty good, sometimes very good with the exception of the cheese and wine. I remember once having a very good vodka served with the caviar, and a fabulous port with the cheese. What ever happened to those niceties? Now, the wines are boring to so-so, and the cheeses are too cold so you can't even tell if they have any flavor, plus the texture is like old rubber.
If you are talking about the food in the Frankfurt FCT, I agree totally. It is the best.
On board, only so so, I reckon.
SQ coach food is better! Well, almost..........
I was actually referring to food onboard - which is why I said I am the odd one out here. I actually like the weirdness (maybe we could call it "creativity") of LH F food. SQ F seems to me like nice (but boring) restaurant fare.
Would someone PM me both the current ex-USA fares for all three cabins as well as the link to the Singapore Air webite where these RTW fares are described?
Thanks in advance.
Never mind, I just found it in post five of this thread. Guess I just learned the hard way what everyone says here, -- search and you'll probably find what you're looking for. Thanks, FT!!!
I'm flying JFK-FRA-SIN-HKG-SFO in a couple of weeks and would like to know to which Star Alliance airline I should post the miles to? I'm not going to fly SQ anytime soon after my RTW trip so I'm not going to use KrisFlyer. My flying is mostly through the USA (only a couple of times a year). I guess what's important to me is some kind of status so I can get a better seat choice, lounge access, or some other benefit. What would be the ideal Star Alliance airline I should post the miles to? Will these flights get me *G (and which airline)?
JFK - FRA: 3847 miles in distance
FRA - SIN: 6387 miles in distance
SIN - HKG: 1594 miles in distance
HKG - SFO: 6915 miles in distance
Thanks.

If you're on the FEZSQ First fare, you'll earn around 28K EQMs. That will get you CO Silver, but better might be UA Premier and E+ access. The "cheapest" *A NA carrier for *G is Air Canada, requiring only 35K miles. But you'll need another 7K to get there. No priority seat selection on partners airlines, but you would get priority boarding, priority security access and free access to UA-CO-US clubs.
Programs: UA 1K, LH M&M, Marriott Gold, Avis NotLast

Oops, good catch. So UA Premier and *A with AC would each require another 7K from somewhere. CO (and US ) are 150% so your RTW would net enough for Silver.

Thanks for the replies. I completely understand how this works now. I guess it's an additional 7 EQM (which is a lot especially since we're almost at the end of 2009) or become Silver with CO (or US).
I have one more question though. What partner program would get me the most (usable) miles (since going for Silver on CO may not be worth it, is it?)? Miles are easy to accumulate and I also have a fair amount of Starwood points.
Thanks.
