I just booked my SQ F RTW ticket yesterday and I took the eastbound route JFK-(FRA)-SIN-HKG-SFO. Total damage was $7,031 (taxes were $332.00, they were $330.50 before October 1st). Also, i was waitlisted (cleared within a day) on SQ 25 eventhough ExpertFlyer showed A4, 1 seat blocked and another one taken. Also, the agent that helped me didn't take my passport info (I don't have a US passport) nor asked for my middle name (isn't this required now).

2) The Virgin Clubhouse opens at 2 pm...just in time for lunch! I usually get there at two or so if staying overnight the night before, or no later than than 3:30 or 4:00 if coming from SFO on a same day connection to SQ 25.
Bitterroot, yes the Westin isn't great but isn't it the best around SFO? I guess the Sheraton (it seem renovated) is also the best around JFK.
Regarding the Virgin Clubhouse, can you get in with your luggage? I'll probably take Jetblue out of FLL but I'll arrive around 5PM, which will be too early to check in for SQ 25.

The Sheraton is the best I've found so far right around JFK.
And, yes, you can schlepp your carry-ons with you into the Virgin Clubhouse -- there's even a large luggage storage area in the back, near the restrooms. You'll need your SQ e-ticket to get in before having checked in with SQ: the VS dragon will call SQ to verify you're for real.

On my RTW, the VS dragon had the SQ F pax manifest at front desk, so they didn't have to call.
We'd like to book SQ RTW tickets in F for JFK to SFO. I read that you are allowed to accrue miles for our preferred program, LH in our case. But, will we earn three times the miles like a normal first class ticket on LH? Also, I've heard that flyers have had issues with SQ as far as getting their miles credited to M&M accounts. Any comments?

You should get 3 x the "distance miles" as LH calls them. Dunno about the credit process, though -- I haven't tried it.

I flew tpe-sin-lhr last Friday on SQ, and my miles were posted to the BMI DC scheme by Monday morning!

Not a bad price...
A little Off topic, but where is the F price lower?
Qasr & Steveblower, thanks! Good to know we won't have any issues with getting our miles posted because it would be a shame to miss out on adding those to our accounts.
I've checked the departure times, and as some have noted, there seems to be better departure times for all the flights when leaving from New York and heading east to FRA and then on to SIN via Zurich. Will we encounter more jet lag when traveling that route, verses going from SFO-SIN?
Also, I guess there will be more dinners offered in flight on the east bound schedule, rather than having breakfast. How do folks rate SIA food in F compared to LH? I've never flown SIA, and I've always used either UA or FRA for long-hauls. Are the meals worth looking forward to having, or should we eat prior to boarding?

I think that SQ food in F should blow LH's F food away, as LH F food is very esoteric in nature.
I have never flown SQ F, but SQ J is fantastic, usually. Normal food, at least - not some LH "Teriyaki tuna", half-cooked and gray!

By "where" do you mean from what origin(s) is an SQ-only FEZSQ fare lower? If that's the question, the answer is "nowhere else"....the ex-USA FEZSQ is the cheapest you can get. Those offered ex-UK and ex-SIN are more expensive, and it's not for sale from other points.
It's also about the best long-distance F deal out there.....much better than the various alliance fares, and generally better than piecing together one-way F fares into an around-the-world itinerary.

I don't suffer more jet lag east-around than west-around, but others say they do.....YMMV. There's more night flying east-around, but the trip times are significantly shorter, and that's what makes the difference IMHO -- less time in the dessicated air of a pressurized cabin.
As for the F food, I prefer the SQ version to the LH version -- though I wouldn't complain about either. There are typically 4 entrees on an SQ F dinner menu: 2 or 3 western, and 1 or 2 asian. It would be hard not to like something.
On the other hand, if you have time to lunch at the Virgin Clubhouse at JFK, by all means, do: now, there's a kitchen that has a knack for cooking simple things really well........
