Thanks for the input folks. Maybe "just" SQ 11 for that segment...

Price quote of $7374.20 for F..
LAX-NRT
NRT-SIN (in C)
SIN-DXB
DXB-DME
DME-IAH

Is there a restriction for stop overs? Thinking of this:

SQ1 - SFO-HKG (stop over)
SQ861 - HKG - SIN
SQ 334 - SIN - CDG (stop over)
SQ 26 - FRA - JFK

That should be fine.

Isn't SQs end game to dump the 747s? So one would like to think they will have to stop this nonsense with the 380 (and 77W for that mattter) restrictions once thats the only F they have.

When they do eventually retire the 747s, they will still have F on the 77Ws
so unless they downgrade the Suites , there will still be an R and an F class.

I am sure that will happen, but may not until 2015.

Are IAH-DME-SIN and EWR-SIN considered through Atlantic or Pacific? I wonder if IAH-DME-SIN-EWR would work as well for RTW.

This won't work. SQ21/22 are not eligible for this RTW fare. So you cannot fly SIN-EWR or EWR-SIN.

JFK-FRA no longer valid as starting point for RTW SIA-only fare??

Just got off phone with call-centre in India and agent said that JFK-FRA is no longer permitted for SIA-only RTW fare, only westbound travel starting from LAX or SFO. Can anyone confirm this?

I also found out that the Vancouver local # now is routed to call-centre.(but i had little difficulties with agent and he was able to find all the details on the fare). Does anyone have a local # for YVR?

Thanks!

No local # (YVR) for you, but a quick check with SQ only RTW rules from ExpertFlyer does not show any such restriction on eastbound RTW travel starting from JFK. In fact, there was a recent trip report on FT that started at JFK.

That's the kind of nonsense you get from SQ's India call center. Did you called the YVR office (604-681-5212) before or after west coast business hours? You could also try one of the US sales offices... the SFO office (415-781-7304) is particularly good. If you get a VM, leave a message and they will call you back promptly.

Thanks SFO777
It was your TR that inspired me to research the fare.

I asked the agent a number of times and he insisted that was the case.
I tried the local # listed on the SQ website (different from the one you reference) during local biz hours
I'll try #'s you gave during local-biz times.

BTW: how far out did you book? There was no availability for all of Feb 09 for IST-DXB when the agent checked.

And is SIN - EWR valid for this fare or will I be forced to stop in SFO/LAX?

Thanks!
