There may be a few exceptions but this is totally normal across any airline in any of the major alliances.

In this scenario, Solitaire PPS members also just list as SQ*G on LH and UA. On United, even LH HON members list as just LH*G, and likewise the other way around.

UA does nothing for me as a SQ PPS. Seriously. I am automatically asked for two meal choices, I get served my last choice, etc. Why bother. My BP says SQ *G and the lady at the United Club wonders why I don't have a membership. I have to explain that *G ( not from UA) gets access.

Those with UA *G ( Global, 1k etc) should expect the same when flying SQ. Nothing special.
Its unreasonable for United gold's to be treated in the same manner as PPS. Please. Lets get real.
