How many miles needed for this?
Anyone ever done this with SQ?
First class from JFK to SIN then Business from SIN to KUL using miles traveling on the same ticket. Are they charging by segment or not because SIN to KUL has no first class.

The reason I asked this because SQ told me that I have to pay miles for JFK-SIN in first then miles for SIN-KUL in biz, while in fact they don't have JFK-KUL all the way in First because the SIN-KUL is operated by silkair.

Call into KF again. The routing from USA to KUL is valid for a single redemption, you do not have to pay additional miles for SIN-KUL. However the whole routing will be charged as First Class redemption.
Sometimes you get a customer service agent who doesn't have experience with such redemption so best to call in again to speak to another.

I did the same with no issues 2 months ago for SYD-SIN-KUL vv.
Only SYD-SIN-SYD has F class (Suites) and KUL sector only business. I called 3 times and all 3 won't do it for me on the 1 ticket. 4th one let me, he said he needed to override the system. As long as you book it as all the way saver or all the way standard/full it will work. i.e. you can't mix saver and standard.

Hi Guys,
Have a question re waitlist clearing. Basically I booked and confirmed Standard First class for return SYD-SIN-KUL vv. SIN-KUL vv is in Business standard. Had to make the business leg standard as they won't allow mixed class.
But I also waitlisted SYD-SIN-KUL vv in Saver class First and Saver Business for the SIN-KUL vv legs.
I just received an SMS, for the waitlist being cleared for the return leg, SIN-KUL-SYD in saver class for F and J.
Will they allow me to remove the confirmed standard F and J award and return me the miles difference between standard and saver awards for the return leg taking into account my confirmed ticket was a return ticket not 2 one ways....
I will call SQ up tomorrow but just want to get the heads up if anyone know or have done this type of booking before
Thanks,
K.

Had the same problem with a change of date with miles redemption (the agent wanted to charge me USD 30 for re-deposit but change of date was allowed without charges on the fare conditions), just try again since JFK-KUL (zone 13 to 2) routing is there in their most updated awards chart.
