SQ not superstitous about specia liveries anymore

I thought SQ was superstitious about special liveries ever since SQ006, which was in the tropical livery, as they have not had any since, even Star Alliance special liveries. However, I noticed that they recently introduced a special livery to honor the 50th anniversary of Singapore. Are they over their superstition?

It is a sticker and will likely be removed after this year.

Already discussed here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/singa...very-sg50.html

They've had *A liveries for at least five years now, if not longer.

Several. Here's the last one I flew. You can search their fleet for the others.

Just because they never had probably was because they didn't see the need to incur additional cost for repainting and/or there wasn't a momentous enough occasion to do so and/or they felt their brand carries enough marketing weight...

... not that they're 'superstitious'.

Why mess with drawing new liveries when you can just put more paint on the FAs ...

Indeedums.

I think the changes have to do with the change of CEOs. There weren't any special liveries post SQ006, under the previous CEO, which changed shortly after the new CEO came in with painting SQ planes in various *A liveries which is quite unprecedented, given that they've never painted any on any one plane in the previous decade.
