KrisFlyer Star Alliance Round the World Awards in F

Anyone ever did KrisFlyer Star Alliance Round the World Awards (in F)?

http://www.singaporeair.com/en_UK/pp...m-airpartners/

We're planning on doing a RTW Trip in F in November 2015 for 2-3 months starting in Germany.

Which spaces are accessible with a ticket in the KrisFlyer Star Alliance Round the World Award category? Is it only "O" space?

How far in advance can you find space / is space being released for RTW?
What's the best way finding space (for two)? Been using KVS in the past.

Is there any online or agent booking possibility? It seems to be a bit of a hassle doing all this on the phone to KF Agent.

Any particular must do/not do routes/destinations/airlines?

OT: Any better RTW Award using Amex MR? Oneworld via BA?

Cheers&thanks

Standard Award Availability would be required.

KVS Tool continues to support Award Availability on all Star Alliance airlines:

Thx for the answer.

Did anyone ever do such a trip?

How is it going to be booked? Do all segments for two have to be available at the time of booking?

In this case it seems rather tough to impossible booking such a trip in advance, as Standard Award Space most times comes up with very short notice, if ever.

How much fees and taxes do I have to expect?

bumping this as i'm also hoping to see some inspiration from others' travels.

given SQ only flies to MLE from SIN is backtracking allowed on this route?

From my experience, you would need to call the KF hotline to book all the legs. Taxes can cost quite a bit (mine cost about SGD 1600/pax for SIN-YYZ-JFK-BRU-LHR-SIN in J).

Wow that's some crazy taxes.

I'm also thinking should I save my miles for a RTW in J.

Btw, how much miles are need for J? I'm assuming up to 7 stopovers are allowed so that makes 8 flights in total?

That's weird, wouldn't the BRU-LHR be considered backtracking? Or it was allowed for RTW?

J made more sense for me because for most of my legs, *A didn't offer F. I'm not too sure if it's 7 stopovers because I had no intention of maximizing that.

RTW J requires 240K miles/pax. F is 360K miles.

And yes, JFK-BRU-LHR is a small backtrack but that was the route that SN offered so it was approved on SQ's end. ^

Found this Krisflyer guide with some info on RTW.

It says a maximum of 16 segments and 7 stopovers. You can only stopover a maximum of twice in any 1 country. Total travel distance cannot exceed 35k miles.

Just realized the miles requirement for RTW is stated on the website....

Star Alliance Round the World Awards

With Round The World Awards, you can travel around the world with the flexibility of multiple stopovers. Circle the globe and visit up to seven cities of your choice for just 180,000 KrisFlyer miles in Economy Class, 240,000 KrisFlyer miles in Business Class and 360,000 KrisFlyer miles in First Class.

I know ANA tacks on taxes if you make a stopover and only the first segments out of manila before your first stopover is "fuel surcharge free".

yeah looks like it.

I did some dummy booking on *A RTW ticket. I notice for ex-MNL and ex-SIN for similar route the ++ is only like SGD300+ cheaper for ex MNL
