Did SQ remove one A380 from the SYD route?

I tried to book some tickets for next year early April this week and was unable to do so even though the calendar already showed the first 2 weeks of April online for bookings.

Now the booking works but I can now only see one A380 on the SYD-SIN-SYD route with the other one replaced by a 77W. Did this just happen now or has SQ officially announced that they are pulling one of their A380s from the SYD route? Even though it's the same J seating I still much prefer the quieter cabin and the huge bathroom upstairs on the A380

Looks like MEL losses its A380 service from November onwards to. What a shame. Hopefully SQ changes their minds.

Yeh looks like the A380 is gone from Melbourne in November and Sydney loses one as well

Not happy at all SINGAPORE!

Yeah, I'm booked SQ222 in June and it seems it was replaced by a 77W instead of the A380 I booked it on... No email/announcement at all. Reservation still shows "388" as aircraft type but seat map shows 77W. Annoying..

I am booked on SQ222 at the end of the year. Was looking forward to a suites flight during the day and then a Suites overnight flight to Frankfurt, but now it has changed to a 777-300ER.

They changed my seat booking from 3F to 1C. Why would they change a window to a middle seat?

Is there anyway of telling if this is the New Business and First? Any difference in the seat count on the maps? Or is it just turn up on the day?

Yes, from 30 May 2014, the A380 on SQ231 (Singapore to Sydney, departing at 00:45) and SQ222 (Sydney to Singapore, departing at 15:15) will be replaced by a 777-300ER.

The A380s will move to the Mumbai and New Delhi routes.

That explains the SYD A380, where is the MEL A380 going to, given that it's change (showing at the moment) is well after the introduction of BOM & DEL routes.

Looks like AKL will switch to A380 at the end of the year.

Going to be a few unhappy Australian SQ Customers with the loss of the A380s, especially since a few already have Suites trips booked which have now been changed to the 777.

I booked an award flight on SQ231 (SIN-SYD) for January which was changed to the 777. Does anyone know if this will at least be the new first class?

Does SQ let you waitlist or fly standby for the earlier flight on the A380? Very disappointed because my wife and I planned our entire vacation around trying the suites class for the first time! Thanks.

There are less window seats in F on 77W than on A380.

The seat maps are identical.

Agreed. I doubt you will know if it is a refurb 777 until much closer to the flight unless SQ release a press release stating the removal of the A380 flights and replacing them with the Refurb 777s.

SQ Booking online still shows the SQ222 as a 380..

Yet when you go into seelct your seat..

However just randomly looked at my seats and the map has changed

I'm thinking the Switch to 11A is a good one??

Yet as mentioned booking page says a380..

If it's a 77W 11A is the best choice. If it's a380, avoid unless you prefer windowless.
