I'm flying SIN-IST on Sept 19, which has had refit 772 for a while now. However, looking at the seat map for my particular flight, I see 2-2-2 configuration for my flight (AC still says "Boeing 777-200ER"), not the 1-2-1 refit config. If I check other dates during that same week, I see 1-2-1 configuration, just not on the day that I'm flying. Should I be concerned that they'll be flying a non-refitted AC, or is it just a data loading error?

Hi SKYravefever,

That flight looks indeed to be with the non-refitted Spacebed seats from all my sources. It's been happening a lot recently. I fly often to Rome and it's happened to me 3 out of 3 flights that I have taken in the last month!

Thanks for doing a check for me. Bummer, but certainly not as disappointed as you may have been

I am doing SIN-ATH in a few days. I am told this is almost always the old spacebed configuration - any recent opinions?

Yes, SIN-ATH has the old spacebed seats.

There's the odd time where it'll get the retrofit cabin, the last time it occurred was July 14th.

So if my seat map on this flight shows 1-2-1 is it safe to assume it'll get the newer cabin?

For now yes. But do keep an eye on it if you are really concerned about getting the older seat. There can be last minute substitutions even with SIA.

Minor rant for me... Just noticed that my MLE flight have been changed from a A333 to a B772.... =.= Looking at the seatmap (2-2-2 config), looks like it's going to be the old Spacebeds....

None of the B772 were refitted with the new regional seats, no??

I'm pretty sure the 772's that fly to MEL (and possibly SYD) have been refitted with the new regional seats. Unfortunately, I don't know if this is true about flights to/from MLE.

If the seatmap is 2-2-2 to MLE, it's almost certainly the new regional seats, the same as the A330. Only difference would be slightly narrower range of entertainment.

The SYD 772's are the long haul business seats, 1-2-1 like the A380.

Actually there's no way to tell right if they're Space Beds or not right? Guess you'll have to find out on the flight.
