Waitlist limit? Booking reference keeps disappearing on me.

Waitlist limit? Booking reference keeps disappearing on me.
There are 6 different flight options for award redemption for the date I want to fly but are all waitlisted. I put 3 different options on the waitlist figuring I will choose the one that will clear first. I get the booking reference # for each one on the waitlist. However, after a few hours, 1 of them mysteriously disappears from the "manage booking" section without any communication. This happens every time I put a 3rd flight on the waitlist. Is there a limit of 2 for the waitlist?
