Codeshare with Garuda - earning miles?
Perhaps this is a very basic question, for which I am sorry in advance, but I am a bit confused.
I purchased a roundtrip in SIA from Moscow to Denpasar through Singapore. One of the flights (SIN-DPS) turned out to be a codeshare with Garuda Indonesia (GA) and it was operated by Garuda. The flight has an SQ # on my reservation, but on boarding pass it was GA.
I just checked my United MP account and I see I did not get a credit for this GA flight even though it was a codeshare with SIA and I purchased it from SIA. I got it for all other SIA flights operated by SIA.
On the same basis, I was also not let into the Krisflyer Gold lounge even though I am a *A Gold. They told me that since the flight was operated by Garuda I was not allowed to enter.
But my main question is about UA miles... should I give up on this or is there some basis to request for these miles for the codeshare flight?
Thanks a lot!

It's the operating metal (airline) that counts.
In this case - GA - is not in *A and hence no lounge access or mileage accrual.
Codeshares are always somewhat complicated - particularly for upgrades, and sometimes for mileage accrual (like in this case).
