Cathay Pacific First vs. Singapore Airline Business

I'm currently booked on Cathay first from JFK to HKG to SIN. I'm considering swapping for a fee to Singapore Airlines to ride the A380 from JFK to SIN with a brief stop in FRA. I've never flown Cathay First or Singapore Airlines business. Which should I choose?

This is an absolute no brainer. Stick with what you've got. There would be a debate to be had if you were talking SQ F vs CX F and then you'd probably find 50/50 responses. Anyone who suggests SQ J is on a par with CX F needs to put down whatever they are drinking or smoking.

Enjoy CX!

No question CX F --- SQ's A380 in J is nice but not way near CX F.

F is F, 'nuff said.

To think of downgrading at a fee... out of the question.

If it was EWR-SIN in J vs a route with a stop in F it might be worth debating. But as both routes have stops I think F trumps J when on comparable airlines.

F is F. J is J. No comparison.

What you get in CX F and not in SQ J: pajamas, proper amenity kits, caviar, very personalized service including handwritten welcome note, wider bed, exquisite meal, eggs cooked and rice freshly steamed on-board.

It's a no brainer - definitely stick with CX F.

If you can swap for a fee to SQ Suites (their F class on the A380), then it will be a different matter.

I know the pics look great advertising the enormous SQ seat, but you're talking about CX F, one of the best F class products out there.

Remember, you can ask for a second serving of caviar.

The SQ J seat looks great... and IMO is fine for sleeping.. but it isn't a great "seat"...

If the CX F you are booked in is the same as the "suite" I experienced (once!) on their 747 then it is AS good a bed.. and a much, MUCH better "loungng" proposition...

Add to that the F service (which was amazing) and it really is a no brainer....

Enjoy!
