To Guy Betsy:

I guess when is says above that end on end is required/allowed but round (the world) routing is not allowed; that implies that this is not a RTW fare - as you stated, one can only start in one of the coasts (let us say EWR) and I have to finish in one of LAX, SFO, or Houston.

It does say that southwest Pacific is not allowed in this fare - so both Australia and New Zealand are not accessible on this fare.

To KVS:

I am able to access the economy class fare on the KVS tool. However, I get the error message: "no matching fares found" when I tried to access the business class fares on the KVS tool. I stated in my post I could not find such fares using the KVS tool, as I was only looking for business class fares at that time. So, I can access the information on economy class fares now, but I can still not access the business class fares, even if inputting the data you did to access the fare rules on business class fares.

You cannot currently retrieve RTW Fare prices in Business Class using the [DotRes] Engine, but you can still access the Fare Rules by searching for Economy RTW Fares and entering the desired Fare Basis Code manually (as shown above).

Now, I understand why I can not access the business class fares rules using DotRes.

Just double-click the Economy Fare, select [Fare Rules - Sabre] -> Other Fare.

I see two limitations to this method of getting the fare rules for business class RTW fare on SQ.

The first issue is that one does not get the actual fare for business class - as I see both with your example, and when I input a similar example.

The second issue is that I have to "guess" the fare basis code for the equivalent business class version of the economy class fare. In my case, and perhaps in your case, you substituted the letter "y" for "c" in the fare basis code. Fortunately, that was a valid code. However, if the equivalent business class fare basis code had different characters than the economy class fare (except for the first letter substitution), one could not generate fare rules for a business class fare.

As KVS pointed out, there are SQ-only fares from SYD. Since you cannot fly between the US and Australia on SQ this fare contains an additional sector SIN - SYD so that you can return to Australia. If you want to include the US west coast in your itinerary you need to make your own way between SFO/LAX and JFK (or IHA, or GRU...).

The fare rules are much more restrictive than the other alternatives (*A and ESC), in fact there are only very few possible itineraries. But as far as I can judge from the fare rules there is one advantage when booking this fare in J: there are no surcharges for A380 / 77W / 345. Since these types of aircraft can hardly be avoided when flying SQ RTW it makes this fare much more attractive if you want to fly on SQ metal and visit US / Europe / Singapore only.

Both the *A and the ESC fares attract heavy surcharges for these aircraft types, as pointed out by Guy Betsy in an earlier post. So when booking one of those fares in J you may want to avoid the SQ A380 / 77W / 345 as much as you can, which nowadays is not easy....

no, you can either fly to SFO or to LAX.

SFO to YVR is a code share flight on AC metal.

from SFO/LAX yo have to make your own way to either JFK, IAH or GRU.

You then basically have the following options:

JFK - FRA
IAH - DME
GRU - BCN ( - MXP )

Then you can basically either fly to Singapore from the same city, or travel within Europe and fly from any other SQ destination within Europe:

There is an SQ RTW fare from EWR, JFK, LAX or SFO. The fare rules are different from those of the Australian one though. The most important difference is the surcharge in J for A380, 77W and A345.

On the other hand, the fare is considerably lower (USD 2266 in Y and USD 5299 in J).
