I suspect you had the sufficient miles balance (> than 50k miles) at the time the 3 waitlists were placed. Subsequently, you confirmed an award flight which reduced your miles balance to 50k.

Waitlisted SIN-NRT-LAX (F-class) a few days back (no status on SQ).
Today it showed "confirmed" on the App.
However, the normal website showed "wait listed".

So, called SQ. They said it was still wait listed.

If you registered your mobile number, you will receive a text message informing you that your waitlisted ticket is available for confirmation.

Thanks! No message on my mobile phone or email. So, the app must be showing wrong info.

I waitlisted a bunch of Suites LAX-SIN this month before the A380 leaves LAX.
I'd say 80% cleared buy most were 1-2 days before departure. Only one cleared a week or so out and that's the one I ended up taking. I had to decline the others as they cleared as they were too close to departure. As a point of reference, the flight only had 3-4 people on each sector.

Hi All,

How likely is it for this type of waitlist to clear? Is it the same chances as other wait list or no chance?

Basically, I have confirmed Standard First class and standard J class return SYD-SIN-KUL vv

I waitlisted the same flights, day and time in saver F and J class. Do these normally get cleared closer to departure?

Anyone have experience with this type of wait list?

Thanks,
K.

Your HND-SIN flights cleared pretty easily.

JFK is now the only A380 & Suites route in the U.S. My sense is that this route will get even harder to clear Saver awards on unfortunately.

Is F award availability for major US-originating routes just completely non-existent 330+ days out? Even if you search right as the schedule loads the new day, all saver awards are showing up as "waitlisted" immediately. Then if you keep checking days later, they'll still be waitlisted and never open up.

Are they just not even opening up space anymore right as the schedule opens?

I had it waitlisted for longer until I called it quits and booked a redemption via AKL instead -- the domestic flight AKL-CHC isn't painful nor expensive...

Not just F, even for J from places like Europe - SIN I can hardly find saver award seats 300-350 days out. Getting tough.
