DL/UA: SEA-ORF $239 ai thru end of April

Not the bestest deal, but was looking for a way to hit FO before my TPAC at the end of April and this will do it.

Bought this Sat-Sun 19-20 thru ATL both ways; looks to me like same day return isn't possible, at least not with delta.com.

ITA shows the fare plus or minus $20 almost every day for the last 3 weeks of April. Some of these fares are in fact UA.

DL fare code U14RNBVX

UA: LPR3ZAN

Looks to me like fairly good DL availability in April and May, many days have something, 1 day or 3 day advance (can't tell), same day turns possible in the schedule, but first flights and last flights of the day are tough. Also One Ways are pricing at $126 all-in.

Up to 11688 MQMs for $238, so just about 2 cents per MQM. PE from scratch in 7 round trips spending $1666.

UA has good availability on April, and meager availability in May, OW $167. Same day turns are available, and more than two segments each way are also available for not much more. Some days have 30+ routings available. At least 7329 EQM RT available in at least 7 segments.

Too bad UA doesn't have double elite qualifying miles like Delta does... I would go for 1K in 4 round trips if they did! Hypothetically, that would be 1K from scratch in just 7 round trips spending $1719!

[Originally, the last sentence of the last paragraph was the last sentence of the previous paragraph due to an error I made when moving things around]

Thank you very much for all this detailed information!! ^ I also wish UA had a double EQM promotion! If I can find a same-day turn that works for me, I may have to look into the drive to ORF (about 4 hours, hard to decide if it's worth it....) In any event, thanks for your hard work in reporting this info to us.

From JAX, you should do GREAT!

JAX has a TON of low transcontinental fares. Try this for starters: http://www.farecompare.com/search/fl...rtby=price&p=1

WoW. Lot's of availability on UA LAX=>ORF also. Hmmm, ORF or RDU..... what to do? The question for me is really more a matter of when I can squeeze it in!

Thanks for the link! If anyone is interested, I found a good deal JAX-PHX and posted it here, but we'll keep the discussion here on topic for SEA-ORF.

Don't you mean 14 RTs and $3,400?

Not too shabby, BTW...

Correcting my mistake that work2fly caught

Well, it all depends on what you want...

At the current fares, you could earn 1K in 14RTs and $3438, which IS pretty good, though not outstanding.

But in my original writing (where I cut part of a paragraph and formed a new paragraph, but left behind a vital sentence), I was saying:
[Hypothetically,] that would be 1K from scratch in just 7 round trips spending $1719! [IF UA had double EQM like Delta does, which it doesn't].

Hope that clears my editing mistake up.

925, nice little chart, thanks.

I have relatives near ORF and used to fly there frequently but nothing lately. But I have too many planes on the tarmac right now to squeeze one more in. Should help the Navy pilots graduating from basic flight school and going to Oceana if they have to fly commercial.

"Too bad UA doesn't have double elite qualifying miles like Delta does"

They're bleeding frequent fliers to Continental and Northwest because their program sucks. That's why they're doing 2x EQM. Of course, UA's program sucks as well unless you're a very high mileage international traveler, but for some reason those who aren't still blissfully fly United. It baffles the mind.
