Bora Bora via Tokyo on BA FIRST

A new trip report for you... and to a location that's gets a lot of attention from the FT crowd - Bora Bora.

I took a slightly more unusual route to get there, flying via Tokyo on BA rather than going via LA (i.e. the shorter way around the world!). I thought I'd post it here as I got there on BA and AA miles (which most of you have the odd one or two of).

Anyway, make sure you've got a lot of tea on the go before you start

Bora Bora via Tokyo on Schofs' Travels

Oh, and I haven't had a chance to sanity check the spelling, so I'll let G-BOAC do it for me

Thanks Schoffs for the invaluable advice in realtion to how to wear flowers in your hair. I had no idea that two flowers, one behind each ear, indicated that you are married but available

I must try out that sushi shack on my next visit too

Lovely report, definately would live to visit!

With reference to the raw squid incident:

I told her to just swallow it and drink lots of beer
I'm sure I have said something very similar to my wife.

Telling her to drink lots of beer first also has the same effect

Thanks for sharing schofs - some lovely pics there.

I was wondering if you remember the name of that 120 year old sushi restaurant in Tokyo? It sounds interesting and I'd love to give it a go on my next visit. Cheers.

Great read and the part about the raw squid had me laughing out loud in the middle of the office!

Unfortunately I can only refer you to the photo which has the Japanese symbols of the name... if there's anyone here who can translate!

It was indeed a bit of a huge report - apologies, but I just did so much and couldn't leave any of it out! Would people prefer if I cut it right down, or do you prefer having everything and then skim reading?

Bora Bora's not the easiest place to get to, but well worth it as long as you can afford to eat

Tokyo's much more accessible, but uses a lot of BA miles. I've since realised that it's much more accessible flying ex-EU using bmi miles...

I've just got back from a weekend away in Verona, but I'll leave it a week or so before writing that one up - give you all a chance to finish this one!

What a fabulous report schofs! ^

I too was at the Conrad Tokyo last month, and loved every minute of it! Especially the rubber duckie and the rather nice full-sized bottles of Shiseido toiletries.
