The Fast track to Elite / VIP status thread

I did an idine run while on business in Miami - thanks to Burger King (Homestead area), a newly added sushi place (Sushi Mo), and Saladworks (Coral Gables).

More specifically, I had 10 Diet Cokes, a salad, and some sushi.

I have been floundering in Boston in terms of trying to get to elite - while there are a lot of places, there aren't that many inexpensive ones that will quickly get me there.

This is probably not worth a whole thread, but this is a very big day for me, since it's my first "elite" anything (I was comped HH Gold, so that doesn't really count to me). I am now off to Boston where I can finally earn 10 miles to my dollar.

Cheers!

I usually did mine in a couple of runs when going between my house and the casino.

I usually travel there with my sister. On the way, right off I-95 in Mystic, CT is an idine joint that has a take-out window. So I buy sodas for us, and ring them up separately! (2 dines! ) At the Mohegan Sun Casino, Johnny Rocket's used to participate (they no longer do ), so I bought 2 more sodas seperately! (2 more dines! ) And then on the way home, I stopped again in Mystic, and bought soda! (2 more dines! )

Thus my 50 mile, 2-3 hour trip (including time to lose - I meant win ), to the casino earned me 6 dines!

cheap BOS dines

I used to go to Crazy Dough's in BOS for $3-4 pizza slices to rapidly get up to elite level. Now that they're out, I haven't found a good substitute. I'm in danger of losing elite idine status in all 3 of my programs.

There was a bakery/coffee shop half a block from my office (that recently is no longer with the program) that I'd go down to, I'd either offer to pick up coffee for everyone (free dine for me) or I'd grab a croissant or cookie as an afternoon snack. Did it once a day for two weeks, took no time at all.

Now pretty much every Burger King in the area has joined the program, so I could probably get it done in one day by taking a drive around town.

I could be wrong about the "value" of this, but had I not gone to Miami, I was going to try and become elite in Boston via these two places, for the sole reason that I can get sodas/snacks there, which to me is the easiest/cheapest way to do it (Neither take AmEx):

Harrison Deli
805 Harrison Ave
Boston, MA 02118

AK's Take Out & Delivery
1427 Tremont St
Boston, MA 02120

Good luck!

VISA Burger King promotion-10th dine free

You can fast track to Rewards Network elite this summer with the VISA promotion at Burger King. (especially with their dollar menu.) The DFW area just added three Burger Kings to IDINE...and a quick look around has many Burger Kings in IDINE around the country.

In Mystic (in that shopping center right of I-95 at exit 90, where the Aquarium is), in the parking lot there are (or at least were) 3 idine restaurants! They are (IIRC) The Steak Loft, Go Fish and Ten Clams! During the summer, Ten Clams has a take-out window - and it is an easy $1.59 soda joint/dine! (I don't think they are an idine location anymore, but there was another location right across the street - Jamms I think.)

Sorry if this is in an obvious place and I missed it...

Elite status is tied to the calendar year, yes? I want to work on getting my hubby to elite w/AA. My question is whether dines in 2007 will count or should I wait a few days and start in January? Thanks
