How many FF programs do you belong to? What's your balances?

I belong to 8, although I have miles in only 6 of those. Here's what's in my wallet:

United MileagePlus - 154,458
Frontier EarlyReturns - 24,080
Northwest Worldperks - 26,423
Delta SkyMiles - 25,100
Continental OnePass - 0
American Airlines AAdvantage - 29,977
US Airways Dividend Miles - 25,025
Southwest Airlines RapidRewards - 0

TOTAL: 285,063

Just started with this miles game a little over a year ago and have already redeemed a bunch, so I think I'm doing alright.

WHy is your skyteam mileage not pooled? Or do you fly enough to make use of award ticket differences between the carriers?

I only accumulate in four programs, but only have activity in UA and F9. I've redeemed 25K out of F9 and 235,000 out of UA in the last four months.
Code:
American Airlines AAdvantage 6,181
Continental Airlines OnePass 26,742
Frontier Airlines EarlyReturns 30,712
United Mileage Plus 480,023

Just over a year ago? Any tips/suggestions outside of BIS?

For me, currently 6 (UA, DL, CO, NW, US, HA) - about 550K balance. Most of my Sky Team and *A balances were from before you could earn on other carriers.

For me - credit cards mostly! Of my current 210K (or so) UA miles, my BIS mileage is under 52K. And my current balance does not include the 300-400K that I redeemed!

Of course, that was helped by shopping and double and triple airline mileage promos (including a BOS-ORD-EWR-LHR-IAD-BOS non MR thanks to UA res - remember those days? )!

Also, it seems that the original poster has both UA and US instead of pooling them together.

I have UA (which has received miles from AC, LH, and US as well as UA), AS (which has received miles from NW, DL, and CO as well as AS), WN, and B6.

Similar to my situation. AS (AS, DL, NW, AA), UA (UA, US, LH, AC) DL (CO have some orphan miles on DL, plus I rarely step onto a CO flight).

Hyatt 4'406
Starwood 4'701

I belong to too many. All are in the burn mode or have completed burning. I kept miles like a bank account until 2001 then burned them whenever possible.

American - active, burn mode, now down to 65,000
United - inactive, burn mode completed, orphan miles
Delta - active, burn mode, now at 80,000
Northwest - slow burn, now at 150,000 (highest balance 441,000, >700,000 earned)
Continental - inactive, burn mode, now at 25,000+
US Airways - active, but all burned to 10,000 mi. now
Southwest - active, they burn it for you every 16th credit
AirTran - inactive
Lufthansa - inactive, burn mode completed
Jet Blue - orphan miles
Midwest - orphan miles transferred to CO via Amtrak
Frontier - orphan miles, may transfer Amex points here, maybe not.
(Hilton) - many points, now on burn mode
(Holiday Inn) - not too many points
(Choice/Sleep Inn/Comfort Inn/etc) - enough points for redemption, did redeem a few times before
(Red Roof Inn) - inactive, did redeem in 2005
(Econolodge) - burning
