What is up with Revenue management?

The BA552 to FCO tomorrow. There are less than 40 people on the 767! yet only J, C and Y is being sold..This to me seems crazy! Do they think there will be a sudden rush of business pax rushing to get to FCO on a Sat morning? I don't think so.

But .... do you expect a rush of tourists wanting to fly for £69 either?

Better to get 1 business passenger for £400 than 5 lastminute.com's.

Err, most people can't pre-assign now remember - if that's 40 Gold/Silver cards I suspect it'll be a rammed flight! Even if it's, say, 20 card holders + some families/infants who have been pre-seated at T-3, it still sounds busy. A far better guide than the seatmap is the EF sales bucket guide...if JCY are the only ones selling then that could very well be because it's totally rammed!

Given tomorrow is the first day of the Easter holidays for most state school children I think it is a fair bet this flight will be full - along with Heathrow and every other airport in the country.

The % of people in tracksuits is likely to vary by airport though

Indeed. I am absolutely dreading LHR T4 tomorrow morning, even with 'fast' track... It shouldn't be this way, it really shouldn't!

Ok fair enough, I just always assumed that if someone books a flight with no status, they would automatically have been given a seat (shown by one more blue seat on EF). Now i know better!! let's see how busy it is...
