Quote: I can't figure out how to enter the ROO code - do you do it in the code entry area? I've tried ROO, R00, with and without spaces, followed by my code, but no luck - what am I doing wrong?

Thanks!
Enter ROO then the cap code. Repeat for each code you have up to 5 per day.

The cap points post right away. The bonus points don't post for 48 hours.

Well I for one think ROO is flaky. Unless it is cap sensitive? I can't be sure if I did ROO, Roo, roo or some combination thereof. Other than that, here is what I did:

7/19 I entered Roo/cap, Roo/cap, Roo/cap, Roo/cap, Roo/cap, for 5x3pnts for the caps

7/20 3+ Kangaroo bonus points

7/20 I once again entered Roo/cap, Roo/cap, Roo/cap, Roo/cap, Roo/cap, for 5x3pnts

7/21 3+ Kangaroo bonus points

7/21 I once again entered Roo/cap, Roo/cap, Roo/cap, Roo/cap, Roo/cap, for 5x3pnts

7/22 6+ Kangaroo bonus points

So, I'm still waiting for 33 bonus points ... since 7/21 latest entry, and it is now 7/25

Maybe 5 or 6 years ago, Pepsi had a good online program that may have lasted 3 or 4 months. We won 2 Zunes (before I was ready to invest in an I-Pod). With the points we got many noise-cancelling headphones, DVDs, CDs, and Pepsi themed merchandise (coolers, towels, etc). If I remember correctly, to get the rewards it was through a special location of the Amazon website. That year I was giving presents right and left because one of my rooms was submerged under all we got. I wish it would come back.

I started with the MCR program maybe 1 or 2 months after it started. I had to wait until the codes would appear on the cokes in the local stores. I even asked one of the Coca-Cola representative that was unloading his truck when the codes would finally appear here. I did not know then that the program would last so long. At the beginning I used it for Hilton points and I also got a lot of merchandise and gift cards. Now, it's mostly for gift cards when they have the special deals at the end of the year. Many nights going to sleep way past the bedtime since I'm on the East Coast.
Quote: why would you build up 5000 points in "ONE" account
Because not everyone wants to manage 20 different accounts, and because some people (like myself) built up a lot of points in one account before MCR instituted the "one per member" rule on many of the prizes.

Multiple accounts may certainly be more flexible, but are also more work (plus you have to be careful to avoid the "no more than 5 accounts per household" rule by using multiple addresses, etc.), and for people who built up a lot of points "long ago," are not even really practical.

I've got many thousands of points banked in my account, and have had them there for a long time, before I even thought of trying to do multiple accounts. At this point, I just don't care enough to try and play the multi-account game. I'm just biding my time until a sufficiently good reward arrives that I can cash in multiple times. (I long for the days of the old gift card rates... in the early days, I cashed in for the $75 Blockbuster gift cards at 750 points each. Got $600 bucks in cards and bought myself a PS3 and a bunch of video games. In retrospect, I wonder if I contributed mildly to Blockbuster's demise. )

I refused to do the MCR program for a few years, I much preferred the "1 out of 8 caps wins a free Coke" deal they had been running, and used to give all my caps to a friend who was collecting from everyone in our office (she said she was getting a free cruise -- I've lost touch with her, though). Finally started up about 3 years ago. And it does get me to buy Coke when I would buy Pepsi if it was on sale. Now I wait for a Coke sale.

Not sure what you are doing wrong. Once you enter ROO (not case sensitive) you will see a Kangaroo Express (or some such) splash screen. Then you know the roo took. Simply enter you MCR cap and then rinse/lather/repeat. I'm pretty sure you could also enter your 5 MCR codes and then five ROO. I always do another roo after my caps just in case I forgot to do it before entering a code (and I have a few times). Got my 15 points each time.
I have always gotten the splash screen, so guess not case sensitive. Have no idea what is going on.

Enter ROO in the code entry area. Hit "submit" or enter. You should then get the "Kangaroo Express" screen.

Its no more difficult than having to make sure your points don't expire by entering every so often.

If you use a system where you just log in, input, log out and rinse and repeat, its pretty easy. The household system is easily worked around

holding on for that reward that may or as its seeming more and more likely NEVER to arrive again (as in large good value awards) seems like such a waste

Its clear that MCR is playing the one per account limitations so they are the ones that are creating the multiple account situations. Had they allowed, you to redeem for as much as you had in an account, then I'd say you were doing it the right way, but they changed the rules in the middle of the game so I adapted. As have many others

Also, these bonus points (when they work) make it that much easier to get multiple accounts up to a useable balance pretty quick

Sure it is. It means having to keep track of multiple email addresses and passwords, remembering to log in and keep EVERY account from expiring (as opposed to just one or two accounts), working around the household limitation via "creative" addressing, etc. There is zero argument that it is more work. It may not be significantly more work for some, but it's enough work that I know I don't feel like dealing with it, especially since I already had a high balance by the time they changed the game, so it wasn't worth it to me to "adapt." (I don't particularly care for PC points, either.)

I don't have enough codes to reach the limit of these bonuses, so it's a non-issue for me. I unfortunately do not have an office, restaurant, or other supplier from whom I can get a reliable, steady supply of points, and apart from cutting back on my soda consumption, I've also switched to store brands because I find them equally acceptable to my non-discerning palate and significantly less expensive.

I readily admit to being a non-optimal MCR participant.

That is weird. Just got my 15 bonus points from yesterday. Caps were a mixture of Powerade Zero, Powerade, Sprite & Coke. Even the old 12 byte codes are doubling.

Quote: Has anyone ever heard of a limit on bonus points?

Each day, I've been entering "roo" and a code five times (daily limit). Today when I typed "roo", I received the following message:

My Weekly Points Tracker shows that I've only entered 39 points this week and says I can continue to earn bonus points if you've maxed out the 120 regular points. Is there a weekly "roo" maximum in addition to the 5x per day limit? What to do?
YES - In the rules it states that there is a 2000 point weekly limit on bonus points.
Don't think that will ever be a problem for me or 99 and 44/100 % - of the MCR members.
You would have to enter an awful lot of those 40 point McDonald's codes to reach that limit.
Don't we all wish we had that problem.

Thanks for the 2k bonus info. Had not heard that before. But, I haven't come close to hitting that limit. It seems to be the timing of the daily limit since I was able to enter more "roo" codes the next morning.
