Interesting marketing.

Too bad it's come to this, all due to paranoia.

Perhaps. Although some states are considering subsidizing passport acquistioin for state citizens, until a few years back I would never have thought I would seriously see a "get a free passport" promotion .

I wonder if it allows for expedited passport costs too. Anyone know?

Edit: For adults it reimburses $97.

Would a free passport been enough to make you change your plans and stay at one of those hotel on Paradise Island?

Passports

Persons traveling by cruise ships don't need a passport according to the news report I heard the other day. The resorts are rightly upset by this.

That would depend on your country of citizenship and where the cruise is going.

Sorry, I was confused by the ad stating "these Nassau Paradise Island participating resorts/hotels only"

It's not just the Bahamas. There are a lot of tour operators & properties throughout the Atlantic/Caribbean offering "free" passports as a marketing promotion.
