Sign up for all United offers at once (pkx's web script - no longer functioning)

Fellow FTers,

I've written a web script that will automatically sign you up for all current United promo offers at once.... don't want to miss out on one!

Enter your MP#, press the button, and wait 10-15sec for it to show you the results.

Let me know what you think.

Isn't there some occasions that you do not want competing offers? I can think of examples where folks were given a lesser offer when more than one were signed-up for -- if that is indeed the case then this may present a problem down line.

I certainly give the OP credit for creating, and offering to the FT community, a potentially valuable tool, just wanted to point out a possible pitfall.

Thanks - this is cool. Can you expose the code a bit - where are you getting the list of current offers from?

Cheers...

Thanks for the work on this. ^

We have a lot of flights to and from Florida-IAD, SFO-DEN, DEN-Florida etc before year end and there seem to be bonus promos all over for them.

DMFreidman used to offer just such a workaround.

I do remember the issue sometimes was that some promos were not combinable and the first one you signed for outranked one later that might be much better for you, AFAIK.

Just a thought.

That was one of my suggestion on the Beta.bomb thread nearby - they could easily offer us a view of WHAT promos we were registered for, so you could ask for one to be removed if a far better NON combinable one came along later on. Right now they will show us AFTER a promo what we got extra miles for, and the promo number, but not before. And UA being slack as usual, never email members to advise promo registration.

Also Kris - your full name shows on that page ... you may have no issue with that, but thought it was worth mentioning.

Answering three questions at once...

Here's where I'm getting the list of offers... gotta love Google!

Good thoughts re: the offers. It would be nice if the .bombeta (heh) offered more info so I could have the script be more intelligent.

I'm not worried about my full name showing up.

and carl92103,

How do I know it's legit? Well, I wrote it . How do YOU know it's legit? Well, you can take a look at my PHP (the web language I wrote it in). If you program in PHP, you'll see that I'm not too good at it... my code is pretty messy... but it works!

The code looks legit. These days you need to be careful what you enter on certain sites.

Thanks for writing the script.
