How is ShakaNet's Free WiFi service in (South) Waikiki?
I notice that ShakaNet provides free WiFi to a large area of South Waikiki (closest to Kapiolani Park). Anyone use this service and have feedback?

I didn't even know about this.
I do believe I saw the service when I logged in last Monday. However, I think Hyatt waived the fee for tmobile wireless after the earthquake and I was able to connect through to it, since the signal was stronger.

I recall last time I stayed at Marriott Waikiki it would show ShakaNet as available, but low signal and difficult to connect. I was about 14th floor at the time.
Would certainly love to use it rather than pay $11 a day for Marriott's WiFi...

Ocean Resort?
Anyone have any success with Shakanet free in the Ocean Resort Hotel? I've used Shakanet paid there but it was only available in a small corner of the lobby and the signal was fairly weak. The hotel is in the Shakanet wireless Waikiki zone, however. Thanks.
