Lounge invitations for sale on eBay

Hi all,
This guy is selling sets of 4 BUSINESS CLASS LOUNGE INVITATIONS QANTAS CLUB, he says they can be used anytime even when not flying Qantas...
Looks like this seller has well over 100 invites for the club.

So what are these vouchers?

Without an image; it's hard to tell.

Qantas gives one complimentary invitation PA to every Silver Status Frequent Flyer.

AFAIK, thesedays, they are of a small credit card size and made up of cardboard laminated with thin plastic.

Given the fact that the seller has 23 available for sale I would say it is the old QP guest passes which are now defunct.

Even if they were the Silver Tier Complimentary passes, the fact that the seller says that you can use the lounge even if you're not flying QF is rubbish.

The seller also has another auction going for the same number of passes and the latest bid is 68.55!!!

Well its actually 23 sets of 4, so that plus 2 sets he has already sold (he had 25 available to start with) plus the one he is selling separately which is now up to 72.01!!! (I would be right p**** off if I put a bid on that and then saw he was selling the same for 40!) he has at least 104 of these vouchers for sale...

Emailed him too, earlier today.

This is what I wrote:

'Hi,
Can I ask you please what these vouchers are?
You seem to have well over 100 of them here and from the description of them they sound very much like the old lounge invites which are no longer valid...
Are you sure these are still usable?
Would you mind emailing me a picture of them please?
Thanks'

To which he replied:

'They are complimentery initations and are 100% valid in all Qantas lounges.'

No pictures though...

Exclamation

I've also sent a note and expanded upon the note from clubman. I'll be interested to see the response (if any)!

I still have a couple of the old folded A5 sized blue lounge invitations from myold QFF Blue/Silver Status days. These are UNDATED. (I was a QP member back then so had little use.)

AFAIK, these were the only examples of undated invitations.

I received some further dated ones of the same type/format, but as these did have an expiry I ensured they were properly utilised.

Are you sure they are the only types?? Or maybe we are talking about the same animal?

I still have here a couple of the boarding pass sized ones that are undated from my QF elite annual renewal packs from a decade or so back. I assume they are still valid?

Ebay is not going to care about this guy. It'll be your word against the seller's, and since ebay won't ask the seller anything, you lose as long as the auction is not clearly fraudulent in ebay's eyes.
