apparently 200 people on board CNN claims it is a 737 using CTVs feed. Skidded off the runway

just drove by it. I think it is Air France. Hard to say as it is in a ravine and the weather and visibility is very bad. It is on fire.

Cars are still passing by on the 401 - feed is from the Ministry of Transportation cameras.

Was anyone flying out of YYZ today that we know of? I hope everyone's okay.

680 News claims it is an Air France which tried to land in heavy thunderstrom rain.
Plane in FLAMES.
Sounds aweful.

Horrible news. Do we know if the plane was already on the ground and hit by lightnening (red alert) or did it land and miss the runway?

CBC is saying it is an A340 from Air France

Air France AF358 (A340) went off the end of 25L at approx 1600hrs. It is in the ravine at the end of the runway and on fire. YYZ is currently closed to all traffic and all flights are showing as cancelled. Prayers for all onboard.

Apparently CBC has footage of it happening that they will air shortly... definitely glued to the news. Rescue crews appear to have just gotten there...

CBC reporter was taping the lightning etc at pearson and says he may have crash on tape. Says he saw emergency crews moving before plane came in.

According to Sky News the plane skidded of the runway after attempting to land. No news on any casualties as of yet.

whats amazing is the amount of flames and yet they are sayiong it occured abot 10 to 4 est which is almost an hour ago.
