There's been a lot of debate about this little contraption on FT:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showt...=knee+defender One of the first posts...
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showt...=knee+defender
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showt...=knee+defender on the CO board
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showt...=knee+defender AA banning the knee defender

I personally am against it. You pay to recline your seat...

Some airlines have prohibited the use of this device. I agree - I have paid for a reclining seat.

Airlines need to split the plane into two sides, one that reclines, and one that doesn't, and let people pick the side they want.

That's a damn good idea. Have you sugested it to any airlines?

Years ago, may be time to suggest it again, thanks for the encouragement.

You don't "pay" for a reclining seat. You "pay" to get from point A to point B no matter what you sit on. If the airlines made everyone sit on milk crates, you'd still be paying to get from point A to point B.
During the rare times that I've actually had to sit in coach, I just jam my knees up against the seat in front of me, so there will be NO recline...problem solved.

Hahahaha -- they'd like you to believe that. Read the contract of carriage in detail at some time.

That said, since airline seats have reclined for the last 40 years or more, people expect them to recline. The airline provides reclining seats, so they CAN recline.

Don't jam your knees up behind MY seat or you'll be using a wheelchair to get off the plane. Enjoy!

Not before you're first shot and taken into custody by a FAM

Trust me...I wouldn't be the one that's injured I jam them right against the seat, it won't move at all! No matter how hard you try. I am also most likely a lot bigger..and a lot stronger than you. I've also had years of self-defense training. Any attempted assault upon me, would most likely result in YOU being the one that's in a wheelchair.
