Rouge B763 to CYHM

Hello

For the past couple of weeks there has been Rouge B763s doing flights YYZ-YHM usually arriving around 7am. Shortly afterwards a different fin has been flying back to YYZ.

Anyone know what work they're getting done in Hamilton?

Could it be some sort of wifi/internet installation? If I remember correctly, I believe that's where WS sent their aircraft for that.

Possible although I've seen 3-4 of them come back YHM-YYZ so I thought we'd have heard if wifi was on them by now

If it were wifi though, it probably wouldn't be activated until the whole fleet was completed.

According to the Rouge website, the 319 are getting high speed WIFI internet installed now, and the 763 are slated for next year

...and no indication here that they are waiting either:

What's New?
We are bringing Wi-Fi to your smartphone, laptop, and tablet so you can enjoy high-speed internet in the sky.

Need to check in at the office? Done. Plan your trip before you arrive? Easy. Sit down to a TV marathon on a break from your video game? Just hit play.

Beginning this month, our entire fleet is being equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi. First up, our Airbus 319s will be complete this Spring, followed by our Airbus 321s beginning later this year and finally our Boeing 767s starting next year

Our pairings always indicate the aircraft routing and after a recent MAINLINE 767 flight, noticed that the aircraft was being ferried to YHM 5 hour later. Couldn't determine if it flew onwards, but showed the Customer load as 24/187 (full flight). Assumed it was Charter to points unknown.

I haven't seen an AC or ACr B763 operate out of YHM to anywhere other than back to YYZ since I've noticed these odd flights.

I saw these planes at YHM over the Victoria Day weekend in Rouge colours and meant to post but forgot. There was more than one aircraft there.

Could it be winglet installation? I think KF Aerospace does that at YHM.

Possibly, although I never would have thought it could be done in 2 days. Besides most ACr B763s have winglets already. Will have to check my logs to see if any that have gone to YHM already had them.

According to APB it takes 6000 man hours and a typical 16-18 days to install blended winglets on a B763.

Good guess but I think this can be shelved as a NO

I go back to work Thursday for a bunch of day shifts. If they fly and I happen to work one of the flights I'll ask them
