Finnair Availability on Asia Miles
Can anyone explain this?
AY3184 MAD-HEL 10:20-15:30. Award space available.
AY99 HEL-HKG 17:25-08:10+1. Award space available.
MAD-HEL-HKG on above itinerary? No award space.
AY space doesn't show up on the Asia Miles online site, so I have confirmed the space on BA.com and also via the Asia Miles agent.
AY3184 MAD-HEL 10:20-15:30. Award space available.

No I have been unable to book it. I'm trying to book it as part of a multicarrier OW itinerary as business award space between Asia and Europe is basically nonexistent for the dates I need in October.
I'm flying from PMI back to HKG on 17 Oct. Ideal itinerary would be:
IB3917 PMI-MAD 06:45-08:00
AY3184 MAD-HEL 10:20-15:30
AY99 HEL-HKG 17:25-08:10
But I've had to settle for overnighting in London which will suck and also extra taxes:
BA451 PMI-LHR 20:10-21:45 (day before)
BA1370 LHR-MAN 08:00-09:00
CX358 MAN-HKG 12:40-07:20

Doing some homework, it seems like this is the opposite of married segments! They are divorced segments. I can book the two legs separately but not together on the same ticket (which then throws the AM pricing out of whack!)

It's like they couldn't and it's their fault but what can you do about it? Gather someone else's miles la (corollary to CX refund law)...
