Air Canada - Navi.

Just saw this announced!

It looks like a digital magazine about fleet, routes, services and people!

"We are delighted to introduce Navi - an all-new addition to our award-winning in-flight reading offer. We created this portable monthly publication to give you an inside look at the people and the operations that keep Air Canada in the air.

Each issue includes detailed route maps, fleet pages, and insights on everything from our 80-year history to our newest routes.

To make planning your travel with us easier, we’ve also included a printed timetable of Air Canada flights through our major hubs.

Find Navi in the seat-back pocket on your next flight or in one of our Maple Leaf LoungesTM across our global network. "

Why fix something that's not broken? "EnRoute" worked perfectly well and actually sounded better than "Navi" IMHO.

Doesn't look like a replacement to enRoute. It seems like separate magazine covering airline ops. I definitely like the idea.

The idea is nice, the information, photos and images in the digital version are very nice, but it's the name.

I recognized the YVR Concierge office photo from my visit (unrelated to Navi. but I do like the natural lighting)

I prefer to read the operation side of AC rather than vacation, restaurant, etc. For me the most valuable stuff from enRoute is the fleet summary page.

Is it just me, or are these new route maps super hard to understand?

Yes, it seems they are just separating out the general travel stuff (En Route) from the airline info (Navi).

Just wait until the price of fuel rises dramatically and non essential weight will be scrutinized.

Agreed.

I'm also thinking they may use it as an opportunity to update Navi less frequently than monthly. Right now they're publishing and replacing enroute magazine monthly, but things like route maps, fleet, etc don't change too often, so they could potentially avoid the monthly replacement, and just replace them as needed when they're torn/worn out.
