Seats were there 5 hr ago...not anymore? :(

I was using kvstool and aeroplan.com looking for an open jaw YYC-BKK and MNL-YYC. There were seats in Y for the dates I want and the itinerary that suits me. I decided to hold off on booking the 2 seats.

5 hrs later, I don't see those same itinerary anymore

What's the chance of those Y seats coming up again?

Happens all the time. I wait and the seats are gone.
As for predictions of their return.....

Seats get released back all the time, but depending on when and if they will for the flight you want.

Are you asking for a definitive answer?

Unless the seats were for peak summer flying, I wouldn't be too particularly worried. Those airports have tons of Star carriers

Sure, there's hope. But if there are alternate itineraries that are nearly as good, you might want to book that rather than wait for this one to come back. You can always pay the change fee to change later if it does come back.

In regards to the AP flight reward, should I pay the surcharges using my TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite or my Amex Personal Platinum?

Someone briefly mentioned one CC has more coverage than the other for an AP flight reward?

The issue of coverage for Aeroplan tickets varies from none to some, depending on the specific card. I know this was discussed last year in another thread, possibly one or both of the CIBC and TD card threads here.

Amex will not cover Aeroplan trips.

Also, there is a nice large vague area with regard to coverage ranging from things like travel insurance to covering the miles you cashed in to purchase the ticket.

You should really check the rules/terms & conditions with your specific card, or call them.

Definitely pay with the TD card. That and the CIBC card still offer insurance if you pay with Aeroplan miles, as long as you pay the fees/taxes on that card.

As 24L said, Amex offers zero coverage if you buy the ticket on Aeroplan points.
