Boarded wrong flight.. PQM credit?
I managed to board and fly on the wrong plane, flying XXX-ZZZ instead of the ticketed XXX-YYY. I was then rebooked to fly ZZZ-YYY. Looking at the round-trip ticket as it stands, it is now ZZZ-YYY-XXX.
Am I entitled to PQM/segment credit for both flown outbound segments?

Presuming it's domestic (and presuming the OP even had bags) they would have gone on the correct flight. PPBM (Positive Passenger Bag Match) doesn't apply to US domestic flights.
If the same thing happened on an international flight, he would have been a no-show on the flight, and the bags would have been offloaded.

I find it hard to believe this could happen on UA metal with a 016 ticket. However, I could imagine a few circumstances when flying *A during IRROPS when the computer automatically rebooks an itinerary and the passenger isn't adequately notified before attempting to board a previously booked flight.

What are the odds that no other passenger was assigned the same seat on the "incorrect" flight?
I can imagine a rushed GA not bothering to check when the boarding pass scanner beeped. He/she might have noted the seat number with a plan to manually board the OP in UA's computer system at a later time. However, when the OP found his/her seat occupied or when someone else came to claim the seat in which the OP was sitting, this should have caused some FA to look carefully at boarding passes.

Remember the teenager who had a flight from LAX to Oakland, but boarded the flight to Auckland, claiming he misunderstood the gate announcement?
Of course, he had to confess up once it was pointed out that the international flights were from a different terminal than the domestic flights. But, he had his 15 minutes of fame on Letterman (?)...
