[EXPIRED] Barclays US Airways CC offers [EXPIRED]

I am new to thread and this is my 1st post...

I have found a 50K link for US Airways Dividend miles Credit Card. By far the best offer I have seen. Please read the Terms and Conditions Carefully before applying. This is not a referral link.

https://www.barclaycardus.com/apply/...&cellNumber=51

I was surfing on Barclay site and found this link after some tries, seems they will be posting this link soon (not public yet or targeted). This offer may be coming after the news that this card will continue along with Citi AA.

$89 Annual fees not waived.

Thanks and welcome to FT.

I consider this a 40K offer because you have to transfer 10K to get up to 50K. And the transfer fees are not insignificant.

Excluding the 10K miles for a balance transfer that would cost $300, this is a 40K offer, or 5K better than the fee-free offer. It may be right for some if you need those 5K miles and don't mind paying $89 for them.

Welcome to FlyerTalk and great first post!

However, when compared to the 35k no annual fee, you're essentially paying 1.78 cents for the extra 5k at that point. Not worth it IMHO.

Good job finding a higher offer though, maybe applying for the 35k no fee and asking to be matched to 40k may work?

Will ask the SO to try as she'll be getting her card soon.

So what is the current recommendation in terms of applying for another us Barclays card? Was approved December 2011, canceled December 2012, re applied January 2013, and plan to cancel by end of month. Should I apply before or after I cancel? Need this advice for my parents too. Excellent credit score, about five inquiries and one new personal card over last six months. No other cards with Barclays.

I definitely don't want to cancel the card and then get rejected, want the 5000 miles off award and ability to spend 25k for 10k eqm. Thanks for advice.

Was there a first-class check-in though in the old offer? Don't remember it. Might be also worth something for some folks.

Yes, this is a feature of the card, not any particular offer:

Quote:
First Class Check-in and Zone 2 Boarding: All Primary Cardmembers are invited to check-in at the US Airways Preferred or First Class counter when checking-in for their flight. The Primary Cardmember only is invited to board the aircraft early as part of Zone 2 provided their Dividend Miles number is part of their reservation. First Class Check-in and Zone 2 Boarding are only available on US Airways operated and marketed flights.

So will it still get you first class check in when the merge is final? I am assuming its first class check and not priority security lane?

Thanks

Yeah, thanks. Wouldn't consider paying $89 for 5K miles, unless I really needed them. But everyone's needs are different, of course.

I applied for the 30K US Airway card with the fee on December 18 (I'm an idiot and didn't see the better no fee offer). How is Barclay with matches?

Does anyone know to get your companion certificate back if you lost it?

The third result from copying your question into Google: good news if you have time.

Anyone with 2 cards receive the 15000 bonus/ 750 spend offer for the second card? I activated my second in beginning of December and am patiently awaiting. Maybe after a few more statements.
