We are excited to unveil SPG Hot Escapes. This program replaces Starpicks and Beat the Timer and features exclusive, limited time offers on future travel with a minimum of 20 percent savings on stays booked through the website, and SPG members will receive an additional five percent on top of these savings.
A few important things to know about SPG Hot Escapes:
• Savings start at 20% off
• SPG Members save even more (5% off the hot escapes rate)
• SPG Hot Escapes will run weekly from Wednesday to Saturday
• SPG Hot Escapes includes both hotels & resorts to be booked for up to 6 weeks out
• The site is available in 9 languages
• Rates are fully pre-paid, non-refundable and non-changeable.
• Discounted rates will be available on brand websites and SPG.com will have the additional SPG member discount

I personally miss
- possibility to search by country, region (e.g. "Germany", "Europe" or even better semantic searches like "somewhere near the baltic sea")
- sort by price
- sort by distance from place X
But since all SPG websites/apps have always had problems finding places outside the US (especially the iPhone App) I don't expect much of UX improvements here. Maybe Starwood can prove me wrong - that would make me very happy

not that fantastic for all hotels but it does produce the lowest rate in some hotels... Too bad the 20% off wasn't based on the lowest rate.

Which dates were selected when you saw these rates? The Hot Escapes rates should only be available for a 6 week window. If you search past that window, you may see rates like in your screenshot - working on addressing.
I'm ok with that, as long as the community and other lurkers are
