In March 2017 American Express contracted for a larger space at DFW Terminal D. It sounds as if the Centurion Lounge should relocate in mid-2018. Begin reading HERE.

Located mezzanine floor by gate D-17 (marked lift / elevator)
(All terminals at DFW can be accessed within the secured area)

Hours: 5:30am-10pm

Spa Hours: 9am-8pm
(Reservations required; two spa staff avail for 20m appointments)

Centurion Lounge at DFW (New larger location opened 27 September 2018)

Will this be the first AMEX club in the states?
I would assume Plat/Cent access....

It would not be the first club in the US, as there is one at the Staples Center, but it would be the first in a US airport.

I'm surprised they would choose DFW for the first one, since the majority of cardholders in that terminal will be flying AA and have access to the Admirals Club anyway. Seems like the United terminal (B/C concourses) at ORD would make more sense.

Agreed, I expected IAH or EWR, but they may be going for a different audience, article mentions:

proposed American Express club will be located on the south side of Terminal D near gates for foreign carriers like Emirates Airlines and Qantas Airways.
It could also be that the arrangement with AA is fragile.

I heard that Amex are also going to open a Club at LAS later this year and if rumors are true SFO/DEN/IAH and others might be on the horizon. Seems like they are making a big push for coverage in USA - anyone else heard anything similar?

Not only is there an Admirals Club in terminal D at DFW, but there is also an independent lounge in the same terminal that takes Priority Pass, so I find it odd that Amex is choosing to build a lounge here.

Maybe their relationship with AA is more expensive than expected so it's cheaper to open their own lounge rather than reimburse AA and PP

I hope that's not the case. If I lost the AA club access I'd probably get rid of the card.

For those who are wondering the next location... check this out... It's going to be in DFW Term. D.... I recently flew into Term D (had time to kill) and I ended up finding the same logo as the LAS lounge has... It looks like the lounge will be above the Duty Free Shop around D16 (or close by to that gate).....

Yay! I hope that schedule remains accurate - I'll be in DFW for a long stop on October 21.

I would take that route (DFW) over the Atlanta route to visit my daughter in Salt Lake

DFW American Express Lounge Slated to Open Soon

Apparently, the lounge will feature Dean Fearing inspired dishes and cocktails.

Word from Dean Fearing is that he has been consulting with American Express as they open luxury lounges throughout the country. The first lounge opened in Las Vegas, and this month they will be opening just such a lounge in Terminal D at DFW.

The new Amex Centurion Lounge...
