Calling for Ambassadors - National Forum

Folks

I am the team leader for the Ambassador Program for FlyerTalk. I'd love to be able to find some passionate folks who are regulars on the National board to volunteer to be forum Ambassadors.

What does an Ambassador do?

Well, as the name would suggest, your principal role is to welcome new members, point folks in the right direction, provide advice on all facets of Emerald Club and generally be a model FT citizen.

In return, you get to "wear" the Ambassador title under your handle and be recognised as one of FT's most valuable members.

Many of the forums engage with the airline/hotel/tourism board directly (which I will help co-ordinate where there is no Mod). This is to help foster relationships between themselves and FT. Forums which do this already very successfully are Hyatt, BA, Starwood and Lufthansa.

If you would like to know more, and think this is something you would be interested in, please send me a PM. Or your Forum Mod, Peteropny

Finally, the role of an Ambassador is not to be confused with that of being a Moderator.

I endorse this effort. Even though our National forum is quite friendly for the most part, the program does improve the tone. I was quite resistant to the program initially, but about 18 months ago, the Hyatt forum headed down the path of unfriendly posts and I had no idea how to turn it around so we volunteered to be one of the test forums. It has been quite successful in restoring the tone of the forum.

If you are interested in becoming an Ambassador, please PM either eightblack or myself. We will review the applicants and then appoint the Ambassador (most likely 1-2 possibly 3) for the forum - with advance apologies for those who may apply but are not appointed but having "too many" causes another set of problems (we've seen that in Hyatt).
