budget Wendie's Special Offer - budget rental car
http://www.budget.com/budgetWeb/html...wendie_sp_2012
these are the weekly rates before taxes and fees:
economy 2- or 4-door 119.00
compact 2- or 4-door 119.00
intermediate 2- or 4-door 139.00
intermediate SUV pay at counter 139.00
premium 2- or 4-door 139.00
standard 2- or 4-door 149.00
full-size 2- or 4-door 149.00
standard SUV 159.00
i got a ford edge for $247.91 TOTAL
for a week in mia in may - june. now i have to figure out if i want this or the Avis deal. i also applied coupon code MUWZ023 which is supposed to get me $25 off, but fine print says no coupons so it may not allow it.
my Avis deal (Avis discount AWD S767700) was
Standard SUV Chevrolet Equinox or similar,
$259.67 USD for a week - $35 coupon (if they apply it) = $224.67
budget deal was
ford edge for $247.91 for a week - $25 coupon (if they apply it) = $222.91
so they are about the same.
think i might light the edge better than the Equinox, but still not sure.
they both have the same sunpass rates for fla.
i was really wanted a convertible so i have these as a backup plan and will see what i can find for last minute deals. i wonder if i called a few days ahead, if they would switch me to something else since the standard rate for these suv's are higher are about the same as a premium or standard convertible. also been looking at sixt, they are only in fla, but have more upscale cars like bmw or mb, just their reviews are either 10's or 0's with no middle ground.
the fine print:

This rate has helped my friends renting in Arizona April, cutting big bucks ($100s) off weekly rentals for SUVs. Unfortunately, won't work next week for me due to blackout in Arizona then.
Another rate (for AVIS) S767700 if you must travel in March does work to bring prices down on intermediate SUVs

mine in mia came up :
Standard SUV Chevrolet Equinox or similar.
i have also noticed that the budget deal includes standard elite SUV -
FORD EXPLORER 2WD or similar .
for only $169/week ($10 more than the edge for me)
this was what it worked out to be, but i think i would just as soon have the edge:
Rate ( USD )
169.00 car
0.00 options 0.00 equipment & services 0.00 protections
90.67 taxes & fees 16.99 total taxes73.68 total fees
$ 259.67 TOTAL
DW rate terms
6 day 18 hour rental unlimited free miles 4 day 3 hour minimum rental required 14 day maximum rental allowed
does anyone know how likely i would get an edge if i request it, or will i get the "or similar"?

This offer is amazing!!
It saves me over $700 on a BMW 5-series two week rental and LDW and SLI are both included.
A couple of weeks back when I checked the prices, I had to pay $1800 for a two week rental.
Now it's down to $1100 using this BCD.
